Panoramas of Calderdale

A light dusting of snow overnight tempted me to get out and about, to photograph some of the beautiful scenes around Luddenden Dean, in Calderdale, this morning.

The starting point had to be Atlas Mills, Luddenden, just because it's a beautiful old mill, in a magical valley, which is now converted into apartments...

a steep lane leads up to these cottages above the mill...

and just below the mill is part of the village of Luddenden, with the lush green hills of the Calder Valley...

Looking up the valley is the terraced settlement, Booth, with Luddenden Dean beyond...

I just loved this wee cottage perched on the hillside...

and further into the valley, this disused frame seemed to blend into the curves of the dry stone walls... Luddenden Dean, near Castle Carr, Wainstalls, Halifax

the old tree and the wall, lead the eye into this panorama of a farmhouse near Castle Carr...

I just thought I'd share with you, the wonderful morning I have had and it goes without saying, but I feel I must, these pictures would look at their best, enlarged and up on a wall, not on a smart-phone!

Please contact me if you have any photography enquiries?
