I've just had the privilege of going to visit the most amazing 18th century Piece Hall in Halifax, West Yorkshire, on a quick tour with the Business for Calderdale group.
The Piece Hall has been closed for a few years now and is now nearing completion of the massive £19 million investment, into modernizing the interior of the stall/shops, stabilizing stone masonry, landscaping the forecourt and generally bringing it up to 21st century coolness, that it certainly will be!
There's been some great thought gone into improvements, with new entrances and extensions into the new Halifax Library, The Industrial Museum, extended areas for restaurants and bars and an entrance into the Georgian Square Chapel Arts Centre.
We met in the new build extension to the Square Chapel, a stunning new cafe, bar, restaurant and theatre complex, complete with some pretty stunning new architecture, joined on to the old red-brick Square Chapel theatre. It's got the best new craft beers and some pretty scrumptious pizza on the go, I can only highly recommend it!
Anyway, here's a few shots from our visit...
