Looking up

I had time to go for a couple of walks around Halifax last week, actually for the first time in a while, the sun was shining, so I thought I must!

Starting out from Shaw Lodge Mills... Shaw Lodge MillsShaw Lodge Mills, Halifax, Calderdale, West Yorkshire, architecture in the winter sun.

The winter sun was very low and it provided me with some fantastic light. It did result in me photographing looking upwards a lot, due to shadows on the lower parts of the buildings, but it was well worth it as you will see. The aim was to capture some of the architecture and  great spaces that are abundant in this old town, Halifax, Calderdale, West Yorkshire.

This tower block, though not so classic in design, combined with the trees, made for an interesting abstract piece...

These pictures are all the result of one afternoon and a morning walk, when the sun was shining last week, remember it??

The sun came and went fast but while it's out, we make hay and enjoy the views, not forgetting to look up sometimes...
